Country Houses

I know it's getting late, almost four o'clock
but we should grab our skates and head out for a walk
along the abandoned beach to the park
where kids are playing shinny hockey
it's getting dark

and
I miss living here
country houses on city streets

I know it's getting crowded, and rent's going up and up and up
big ugly chains pushed out mom and pops
but if we walk a little past those new shops
we can still go to the Bean and catch a movie at the Fox

and

In the morning the kids head to school
we used to walk up that hill, trying to look cool
now the cars line up all down the street
and when we walk to work we look down at our feet
